I already booked my tickets to Osaka, Japan for November, from a seatsale of GetGo Cebu Pacific Air, for only PHP3,000 round trip. But I am still not sure if I’ll push through due to some circumstances. I still secured a Japan Visa just in case things fall in to their places.

Japan Embassy is not requiring an application fee for the visa; however, you need to go through a travel agency, because you cannot apply directly to the embassy, and pay their application and consultation fee instead. As of writing, application and consultation fee would range from PHP800 to 1,800 depending on the travel agency you are applying to.

I applied my Japan Visa through Reli Tours & Travel at 5th floor SM Megamall because the processing and consultation fee there only costs PHP950; it is also the nearest and most convenient travel agency for me that processes Japan Visa. Other Japan-Embassy-accredited-travel-agency will be listed below.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Passport that still has 6-month validity on the date of travel.
  • Duly accomplished application form (printed on A4 paper) which is available in Japan Embassy’s website or on your chosen travel agency. Make sure that you do not leave any blank space on your application form and write “NA” if it is not applicable. Click here for application form.
  • Original Philippine Statistics Office (PSA) issued birth certificate. NOT the National Statistics Office (NSO) issued birth certificate anymore. No need for the receipt.
  • Clear colored (45mmx45mm or 2inx2in) photo with white background taken within the last 6 months.
  • PSA issued Marriage Certificate for married applicants.
  • Daily schedule printed on A4 paper. The form is downloadable in their website, click here.

  • Original Bank Certificate at least 3 months from date of issue. You don’t need to submit the receipt. The bank certificate that I have submitted have around PHP50,000 for 4-day travel to Osaka.
  • Photocopy of Income Tax Return (ITR) form 2316.

For those with guarantor

  • Guarantee Letter.
  • Proof of relationship to the applicant (e.g. birth certificate). You must be related or married.
  • Original Bank Certificate and ITR (2316) of guarantor.

Optional Documents

  • Plane ticket of departure and return.
  • Booking of accommodation.
  • Certificate of Employment (CoE) with salary.

After successful screening of documents, I paid the full amount of processing fee which is not refundable. I was advised that the result of visa will be released within 5 to 7 working days of Japan Embassy. Luckily, I was texted that my passport is ready for pick up just after 3 working days. And I got approved! Hooray! I got 15 days of single entry to Japan.

Based on my experience, Reli Tours & Travel SM Megamall, the personnel are very helpful and accommodating, making it sure that you’ll have all your necessary documents valid so you’ll have higher chances of getting a visa. You just need first to have you application form checked then they’ll you give you a queue number and wait for your number to be called. Then when you’re called, that’s the time they’ll check all your documents and advise if ever you lack documents or you need to replace you document with a better one. If you did not pass the screening or you need to return to complete your documents, you will be already asked to pay a PHP500 non-refundable consultation which is deductable to your PHP950 processing fee when you return with your complete documents.
